Oil of Oregano: Known for its antioxidant and antifungal and parasite properties. The oil from the oregano plant contains varying amounts of thymol and carvacrol, compounds that may inhibit the growth of fungi, worms and other organisms.

Excellent anti-fungal and anti-microbial agent; some sources recommend rubbing a drop or two of oregano oil into an area that is itching due to athlete's foot, a common condition caused by the tinea versicolor fungus.

Mild stomach-settling and cough-clearing qualities; are attributed to oregano oil. A drop or two of oregano oil mixed with milk or juice may well calm an upset stomach and aid digestion.

General Interaction: Oil of oregano may reduce the absorption of iron from iron supplements, so take the oregano oil at least two hours before or after consuming iron supplements. Safety : Suitable for vegetarians. Do not take if pregnant or lactating. Some people may have an allergic reaction to oregano oil and plants in the thyme, basil, hyssop, marjoram, mint and sage family.
